Jénel Stevens is a stunt performer best known for her work on Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Luke Cage (2016). She has landed a SAG Awards nomination along with the 2017 Urban Action Showcase Angels of Action award for her work. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a (MS) Master of Science in Sport Administration. Additionally, she is a (CSCS) NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and a Precision Nutrition Certified Nutritional Counselor.
Jénel has been an athlete all her life. She played Division I basketball for Canisius College on a four year full scholarship. Jénel was inducted into the 2014 Class of Canisius College’s Sports Hall of Fame and the conference’s MAAC Basketball Hall of Fame for her amazing achievements throughout her collegiate career in Women’s Basketball. Since she retired from basketball, Jénel has put most of her energy into her love of martial arts.
Jénel Stevens currently trains in Muay Thai, Boxing, Jeet Kune Do (JKD) and Filipino Martial Arts at AMAA, under Sifu Dan Anderson, where she is undefeated as a National Muay Thai Gold Medal Champion and the new WKA New York State Lightweight Muay Thai Champion. She has earned her Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and her 3rd Degree Black Belt in Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts. She is a also disciple and Level 9 Balintawak practitioner under Great Grandmaster Crispulo Atillo.
Jénel is the nutrition and conditioning coach of the Anderson’s Martial Arts USA World Kickboxing Association (WKA) Fight Team – a Championship team which in 2014 brought home 23 medals, one of which belonged to her.
Jénel is also in the Kettlebell Kickboxing™ Scorcher Series, Body Series, and 7 Day Lean Series DVDs.
Marija Abney, a native of South Carolina, received her BFA from The Ailey School/Fordham University, her MA from NYU TISCH in performance studies and is an alumni of The William Esper Studio’s Two Year Meisner Training Program. She was most recently featured in Marvel’s Black Panther and will be featured in Avengers: Infinity War as a Dora Milaje. Her theater credits include: Broadway’s After Midnight, The Lion King, In Your Arms, Amazing Grace (Chicago), and New York City Opera’s final production Anna Nicole. Additional film and television credits include: Luke Cage, Isn’t It Romantic, The TONY Awards, FOX Searchlight’s Black Nativity, Dancing with The Stars, the Latin Grammy Awards, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Niahlah Hope was a stunt double for Lupita Nyong'o in Black Panther, Marilyn Torres in the Daredevil episode .380, Alfre Woodard in the Luke Cage episode Manifest, Deborah Ayorinde in the Luke Cage episodes Now You're Mine and You Know My Steez, Sabrina Reitman in The Punisher episode Memento Mori, Jennifer Fouché in the Jessica Jones episode AKA Three Lives and Counting, Lisa Tharps in the Jessica Jones episode AKA Pray for My Patsy and Simone Missick in an upcoming episode of Luke Cage.
She was also a stunt performer in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers 4 and the Jessica Jones episode AKA Crush Syndrome.
